I was born near Norwich, Norfolk, where my Dad was stationed with the RAF.  I have spent most of my life in various parts of the South West, including Bath, Bristol, Cornwall and Devon.  With a gap year - failed emigration - to Prince Edward Island, Canada.

My seven children are all grown up now and off out in the big bad world.  With the exception of my son, Alan, who is, very sadly, no longer with us.  Hence the gap year.

I have taken two writing courses with the Open University: Start Writing Fiction and Creative Writing.
